Product Care

Bon Voyage!

Like many women, the one souvenir I would bring back from any vacation was a piece of jewelry. It has always been my way of connecting to those places that I daydream about and those memories I will never forget. These are my treasures, my legacy. Their value does not lie in precious metals and rare gemstones. Their value is in their creation. Some artisan, somewhere envisioned it, sketched, searched for just the right materials and crafted it with skillful hands and sharp eyes.

Most of us cannot travel to all of the far off destinations of our dreams, but we can still have a treasure that links us to those places, those cultures, and those people.

May this piece of jewelry bring you as much pleasure in wearing it as its creation gave to its artist.

Care and Cleaning

A few tips for caring for your jewelry:

  1. Treat it as lovingly (or better) than your beloved. In other words, protect it from scratches, chemicals, and extreme sunlight.
  2. If it will mess up your $200 custom hair color – it will probably mess up your jewelry too. So, try to leave it in a safe place while you go swimming, lounging in a hot tub or bathing.
  3. While makeup, hairspray and perfumes may make you more alluring, they definitely won’t improve the appearance of your jewelry! Save the adornment for after the primping.
  4. If we call it “oxidized” or “antiqued,” save yourself the trouble of polishing it. It’s supposed to look old.
  5. That old t-shirt of your husbands that he’s had since college ~ cut it up! It’ll make a great polishing cloth for your silver jewelry! If that will wreak too much havoc, splurge on a polishing cloth.
  6. The rest is common sense. If you bought from Arhaus Jewels, you obviously have that!
